Everything you want to know about working at Precision Social — work-life balance, benefits, the hiring process, internships, flexibility, and growth.
- Is Precision Social a good place to work?
- We think so — and we can point to specifics rather than slogans. Precision Social is a social media and video production agency in Chicagoland that protects working hours (Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm), hires remote-first across the United States, and backs full-time roles with unlimited PTO, health coverage, a 401(k), and quarterly growth check-ins. Since 2019 the team has grown to serve 200+ brands, so there's real client work and real room to grow.
- What does Precision Social do, and where is it located?
- Precision Social is a social media marketing and video production agency headquartered in Mokena, Illinois, in Chicago's southwest suburbs. Founded in 2019 by Gabriel Burch and Chase Pickett, we handle social media management, video production and editing, design, and brand strategy for 200+ brands across Chicagoland and nationwide — with much of our production work shot on location in and around Chicago.
- What is the work-life balance like at Precision Social?
- We believe great work comes from people with full lives outside the office. Our hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, and we protect them. When the workday ends, we want you recharging, not answering emails at midnight.
- What benefits and perks do you offer?
- Full-time team members get trust-based unlimited PTO, company-wide paid holidays including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, 48 hours of sick and mental health time each year, medical, dental, and vision insurance with multiple plans to choose from, a 401(k) retirement plan, and company-paid group term life insurance. We're also remote-first with a remote work stipend and an office open to anyone who wants it, and everyone gets quarterly growth check-ins plus a referral award when you help us find a great hire. Benefit eligibility varies by role and hours worked.
- What is the hiring process like?
- We start with a brief introductory call to get to know you. From there, you may be invited to 1-2 deeper interviews with team members or a paid skills assessment depending on the role. We value your time and aim to keep the process transparent and moving quickly.
- Do you offer remote work flexibility?
- Yes — we're a remote-first company, and remote work is our default arrangement anywhere in the United States. We back it with a remote work stipend, and our office stays open for anyone who wants in-person time. Roles like video shoots and on-site client work still happen in person, and we evaluate remote work on results, not activity.
- What opportunities are there for professional growth?
- We are a growing agency, which means new roles, new responsibilities, and new challenges open up all the time. We promote from within whenever we can and give team members room to stretch into the work they are passionate about.
- What should I include in my application?
- When you apply, you'll upload your resume as a .pdf, .doc, or .docx file, and you can add an optional cover letter. Beyond that, we want to see what you can do! A portfolio, reel, or links to active accounts you've managed are the best ways to stand out. Let your work speak for itself.
- Do you offer internships?
- Yes! We periodically open internship positions for students and recent grads who want to get hands-on experience in creative marketing and social media. Visit our Internships page to learn how our program works and see current openings.
- Do you work with contractors and freelancers?
- Yes — we partner with independent video producers, editors, designers, photographers, writers, and other specialists, both in Chicagoland and in markets across the country. We keep a roster of trusted contractors and reach out with the scope, timeline, and rate when a project fits your skill set. Visit our Contractors page to learn how engagements work and how to get on the roster.
- What happens after I apply?
- A real person on our team reads every application — there's no resume-scanning robot deciding your fate. If your background looks like a fit, we'll reach out to set up a brief introductory call. Either way, we do our best to get back to every applicant, and you're always welcome to email us at employment@precisionsocial.com to check on your application.
- How long does it take to hear back after applying?
- We're a small, fast-moving team, so we try to respond within a couple of weeks — often sooner. Timing can stretch when we're in the middle of a big production push, but we won't leave you guessing forever. If a role closes or we go another direction, we'll tell you.
- If I'm not selected, will you keep my application for future openings?
- Yes. We keep application materials on file so we can reach back out when a role opens that fits your skills — and because we're growing, that happens more often than you'd think. You can also join our job alerts so you hear about new openings the moment they post.
- What kinds of roles and skills does Precision Social hire for?
- More than most people expect from a social media agency. Our team spans videography and video editing, social media management, content strategy, graphic design, photography, copywriting, and account management — plus interns and a nationwide contractor network of specialists. If you're great at telling stories for brands, there's probably a place your skills fit here.
- How does Precision Social support career growth?
- Every team member gets quarterly growth check-ins — a real conversation about where you want to go and what we can do to get you there. Because we've grown from a two-person startup in 2019 to an agency serving 200+ brands, new responsibilities and roles open up constantly, and we promote from within whenever we can.
- Can an internship at Precision Social lead to a full-time job?
- Yes — that's the goal of the program. We can't promise every internship ends in an offer, but interns who show craft, curiosity, and ownership are the first people we think of when a role opens up. Several paths at Precision start exactly that way: real client work as an intern, then a seat on the full-time team.
- What makes Precision Social a great place to work?
- Real creative trust, real clients, and real balance. Since 2019 we've grown to serve 200+ brands and ship tens of thousands of videos — and we did it with protected working hours, trust-based unlimited PTO, remote-first flexibility, and a culture that hands people the brush instead of a script. If you want to do the best work of your career without giving up your life to do it, that's the trade we've built.
- Do I need to live near Chicago to work at Precision Social?
- Not for most roles. We hire remote-first across the United States, backed by a remote work stipend. Production roles — video shoots and on-site client work — are hybrid and based in the Chicago area, near our Mokena, Illinois studio. Our office is always open to anyone who wants in-person time.
- Do you offer part-time roles?
- We do — our team includes part-time roles alongside full-time positions and internships, and you can even tell us you're interested in part-time work when you sign up for job alerts. Part-time openings appear on our positions page when available. Keep in mind that benefit eligibility varies by role and hours worked.
