If you ask ten people what a social media agency does all day, you will get ten versions of "posting on Instagram." The real answer is a lot more interesting. Since 2019, our team at Precision Social has shot and shipped tens of thousands of videos and published thousands of posts for more than 200 brands and businesses — and almost none of that happens from behind a scheduling dashboard.
Our workday runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm — and we protect those hours. Mornings usually start with the strategic work: reviewing how yesterday's content performed, planning shoots, writing scripts, and syncing with clients. Social media rewards speed, but the accounts that grow are the ones with a real strategy behind them. That thinking happens before anyone picks up a camera.
Because we are remote-first, that morning sync might happen from a home office in another state or from our headquarters in Mokena, Illinois. We evaluate remote work on results, not activity — so the morning is about alignment, not attendance.
Production is where days get unpredictable in the best way. Our shoots have taken the team to rooftops over the Chicago skyline, onto construction sites with drones in the air, and inside restaurants, gyms, showrooms, and warehouses across Chicagoland. Video producers, videographers, and editors work side by side with strategists so that what gets shot actually serves the plan.
Not every role is on set. Designers are building brand visuals, social media managers are deep in community management and publishing, and editors are turning the morning's footage into content that will ship this week — not this quarter.
Afternoons are for finishing: final edits, client reviews, publishing, and reporting. One thing that surprises people who join from other agencies is how much ownership individual team members have here. We were founded on the belief that social media deserved more respect than being handed to the intern — so the people doing the work get real creative trust, real clients, and real accountability.
And then, at 4:30, the day actually ends. We want people recharging, not answering emails at midnight. Great creative work comes from people with full lives outside the office.
We hire social media managers, video producers, videographers, editors, designers, strategists, and marketing interns — remote-first across the United States, with hybrid production roles based in the Chicago area.
